ASSIST Orientation ’09 a Success
They arrived with jet lagged bodies but excited minds and hearts: The ASSIST Class of 2009/10, 121 strong from 16 countries/regions, worked beautifully together over 5 days as they undertook final preparations for their exchange years at 77 American independent schools.
Greeted warmly and supported by 27 staff members, the members of the Class were enthusiastic and hard working as they prepared to undertake their ASSIST experiences. This Class is the 41st in ASSIST’s long history, and they succeed 3,780 alumni from 42 nations who have studied before them at a collection of America’s finest schools.
It was a very busy time, beginning with Staff Orientation Dinner on Friday evening, Saturday arrival, game day on Sunday, Day in Boston on Monday, and Class Day on Tuesday. The traditional entertainment evening was Tuesday night, after which scholars received t-shirts and backpacks with the new ASSIST logo and tag line (thanks to Director Pamela Thye for the backpacks).
We hope you will enjoy the slide show (above right) that was projected at the conclusion of the wonderful entertainment evening on the last night of Orientation.
